Dear Laker Lax Alumni, friends and family,

I  was recently diagnosed with throat cancer. They are using something called Proton Radiation  in my treatment .  It’s use has primarily been with childhood cancers where it has had its proven success,  Without that data in children I wouldn’t be using Proton Radiation, which will be critical in the success of my care.

In the last week I have learned that there have been too many Laker Lax Alumni who they themselves have directly been affected by cancer.  Most important of our fellow Lax Alum is Rich Wagner who’s son Nate is Still in his fight against cancer.  Nate’s treatment has moved to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia There they  are working on Nate’s specific genetic marker in finding treatment option for him.

In my fight children have gone before me.  There are others like Rich who have their children like Nate in the fight against cancer.  I ask that we join together with St Baldricks in the fight for finding treatments and cures for childhood cancers.
