I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Hit that thang!

I'm raising money for childhood cancer research! Please help contribute in memory of our sweet Maxwell and the many others who are still fighting or have earned their angel wings.

Our kids are our future, let's help them out! Childhood cancers are different than adult, and the research to improve the care of these kids is far underfunded. Please help out. Every $20 (or more) helps!

Unfortunately our family knows this all too well as our sweet Maxwell was diagnosed with cancer (Leukemia, ALL) at his 1 month well baby visit. He spent the next 8 months at Duke battling it before he gained his angel wings. We are forever grateful we got to spend that time with him and enjoy all of the laughs and smiles with him, but we want to help others with better treatment options & outcome. Please check the video below to see a photo collage of his super adorable (I'm a little biased :) ) smiling face.

This is the 6th year I've taken part in the St Baldrick's "Growler" Volleyball Tournament. In 2018-2019, we had record donations of over $120,000 both years! In 2020 the even didn't occur and donations were notably down.  Please help us revive this year as our best year ever. At our peak we were the 2nd largest St Baldrick's event in North Carolina. In total, this event has surpassed a half million dollars in donations for children's cancers.  (Tax deductible) donations can be made until Sunday 8/15 through the "Donate" button to the left. Thank you in advance!

Also, everyone local to Raleigh, NC is welcome to come to our final tournament night Tues 8/17/21 at Springdale Area Recreation Club. All 32 teams will be in a bracket to battle it out for the top honors. There's a band, wide variety of local food & beer offerings, St Baldrick's Head Shaving, raffles, and more. Check out the website for more details, and drone video from past years: http://growlervolleyball.com/

Thank you!

Mark

PS: If your company provides matching for your donations, please request that the St Baldrick's matching be directed towards our event. You can accomplish this by including the following info to your company's match program admin:

Participant: Mark Pogers (P-1086292)

Team: Hit that thang! - (T-131701)

Event: Growler Beach Volleyball Tournament (E-6792)

During the pandemic, donations have been down sharply, which is a big deal since the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest non-government supporter of childhood cancer research grants.
