I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

When I was a high school sophomore in October 2008, my grandfather passed away from Leukemia. 10 months later, my father was also diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Lymphoma. He underwent months of treatment while continuing to work full time. It was an emotional time for our family and I vividly remember how terrified I was about losing my dad. However, thanks to blood donations and professional medical care he was able to go into remission. 6 years post-diagnosis, my dad had the pleasure of announcing to our family that he was officially cancer-free at my college graduation party. It is thanks to blood donors, doctors, nurses, and cancer research that my dad is still here.

No family should have to suffer the loss of loved ones to cancer. Especially when that loved one is a child. In honor of my grandfather and my dad, please help me in giving back by funding research that will save lives.

I will also be donating my hair after the event.
