On Glenwood Avenue between Hibernian and Napper Tandy's, Raleigh, NC US
I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
Citrix Raleigh
Why am I shaving my head? Because I can’t imagine my little niece or nephew in the hospital. Because it’s just hair. Because Sinead O’Rebellion. Because this makes my third donation to Locks of Love in the past five years. Because I work with and for a lot of kick-ass people and I knew they would support my lofty BHAG. Because I rarely regret anything. Because childhood cancer research is underfunded. Because the length of my hair is completely unrelated to my femininity. Because it will grow back. Because, Oliver G. Because 5 years ago I would have never done it. Because hats and giant earrings. Because I consider myself incredibly lucky in life. Because I always wondered what my head is shaped like. Because why not? Because to me it’s just hair, but to someone else, it might be more than that. Because I’m thankful every day for something different. Because I have unconditional support from friends and family. Because it’s been a while since I was outside my comfort zone. Because I avoid hair dryers at all cost. Because Hayley Bushnell offered to manage my donations campaign and (as ShareFilers say) she totally crushed it. Because it will surprise some people who know me, but some it won’t. Because Citrix is matching all employee donations. Because childhood is awesome and every human deserves the best one
