For years I have joked about shaving my head, especially when I had a horrible hair cut, bad dye job, or just a bad hair day in general. Now that I'm turning 25 I realized my hair isn't all that important to me, but it could mean so much to someone else.
So I am shaving my head to honor a 13 year old girl named Brooke at the Alaska Airlines Center on April 10th. Brooke is from Wasilla, AK which is only a couple hours from where I live and she is currently undergoing treatment. You can read her story here: https://www.stbaldricks.org/kids/mypage/304
For those of you who know me, you know that I have a bucket list of things I want to accomplish before I kick the bucket. After the event I will be donating my hair to an organization for children who lose their hair. They make wigs out of multiple donations that only need to be 8" long (I am almost to 9") and I'm excited to cross "donate my hair" off my bucket list.
I only need 40 people to donate $25 each to raise my goal of $1,000 in 30 days. There are kids out there who are going through some pretty tough stuff and your donation helps fund potentially life-saving grants. As a bonus, I will donate 1 hat for a child currently undergoing chemotherapy for every $10 donated.
