I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm shaving my head again this year in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research! Last year I raised $260, which was not bad for my first try, but this year I want to do more. My shave time is at 1pm on Sunday, March 14th, and the kind people at work have pledged to hold cookouts to raise at least $500, so as promised I have bleached my hair and dyed it green. For every $100 after $500 we raise I will keep my head shaved for another week. I am hoping to hit my personal goal of $1000 this year...If I do, it's six weeks of bald. The reason I'm doing this, you ask? It's the same reason I give blood, because I know I will grow more, I can spare it, and my minor sacrifice may help someone else in need. In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. The least I can do is shave my hair once a year to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure.
