Holy cow, I'm really shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! It started as a crazy idea last spring but became personal when my cousin Nikki was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma.
Childhood cancer differs from adult cancers - little can be done to prevent them and early diagnosis is uncommon. Plus, kids cannot handle the harsh treatment plans prescribed to adults. The answer to these problems is more knowledge.
Gifts from friends like you will enable more research into the many subtypes of childhood cancers for which little is known. It will provide specialized treatment plans for children. And it will tackle preventing the lifelong damage that results from surgeries, radiation and chemotherapies given while young bodies and brains are just developing.
I am shaving my head in support of Nikki and all the cancer patients who have given up so much of their life to fight cancer. But I need your help. Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
