I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:
A Few Bald Men
I've answered the call to be a hero once again! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me again or for the first time with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Last year my goal was $1000 and you helped me destroy that goal! I come to you this year with a goal of $1500 and much longer hair. So what do you say we destroy that goal too!
And HERE IS WHY I DO THIS:
Sera Rose (old colleague's daughter) was born with a genetic disorder called Neurofibromatosis type 1 or NF1. NF1 causes tumors to grow on nerves. Sera has a tumor in her brain and a large tumor that goes from her shoulder to her hand. She has gone through chemo for the tumor in her arm which had to stop in order for her to get brain surgery for her hydrocephalus. A few months later she had to have chemo for her brain tumor. While going through this Chemo she was able to dye her hair pink ( her favorite color). She missed most of her kindergarten year because she was so sick. She is now a 1st grader and things are going very good. She is a silly, happy personable 7 year old. I have to say even through all the Drs, procedures, Chemo... she remained positive and enjoyed goofing around with the Drs and staff. INSPIRATION!
Be it known to all that this participant has dedicated at least ten years of service to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation helping kids with cancer throughout all the land.
St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids
Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.
