I'm doing it again. That's right. I'm shaving my head. Why? Since the summer of 2010, I have diagnosed 3 children with cancer and one with a rare blood disorder. ALL. Hodgkins Lymphoma. Hepatoblastoma. Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). Two are in remission. One is still fighting. And one passed away on October 22, 2011. His name was Shakobe and I loved him. Shakobe had HLH which is a rare blood disorder, not cancer, but is treated with chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant. Advances in these forms of treatment not only help kids with cancer, but help kids with other blood disorders and autoimmune diseases. So, I'm doing it again. I'm shaving my head. And for every dollar you donate (up to $5000), I will donate a dollar to the Histiocytosis Association to further the efforts in finding a cure for HLH. This is a no brainer. Double your money. Together, we will fight cancer, fight HLH, and honor all the kids like Shakobe who populate Heaven's playground.
