I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Why am I doing this you might ask? As a former shavee once said "I chose to shave my hair to stand in solidarity with all the children and adults who don't have the option of choosing, who must shave their hair off because they must undergo chemo therapy to save their lives, and I think it's unfair that the current best treatment available requirres a tremendous amount of physical pain, but it's even more unfair that these children have to face being looked at as not normal because society doesn't see being bald as normal for a child. I chose to shave with St. Baldrick's because it's an organization that is really amazing because it works to address both issues. By shaving your hair you are helping to break the stigma that's associated with baldness and by raising funds you are directly helping to find a cure, and I've worked in a research lab before and I know how much determination it takes to come in day after day and these people are really working hard to find a cure and they need the funds to be able to do so." And that's why I'm shaving my head, I encourage you to get involved, shave your head or donate money because why not take a stand and fight against childhood cancer! Thanks, Claire :)
