I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Randall Children's Colorful CUREsaders

I'm chopping my long locks off in a St. Baldrick's fundraising event to raise money for childhood cancer research! The hair will be donated to Children with Hair Loss in order to create free wigs for kids. If you know of anyone who can spare $1 or $2, please encourage them to donate to St. Baldrick's.

Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? In the U.S., 1 in 5 kids diagnosed with cancer will die. More than 99% of survivors will have chronic health problems and 96% will have severe or life-threatening conditions. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. Together, we can do something about it by raising money for cures that are more effective and less harmful. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer and donor-powered charity committed to supporting the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. They are the #1 private funder of childhood cancer research grants, funding more than $253 million to date worldwide.

Below are examples of the impact of donations:

*$50 funds 2 hours of the coordination of a clinical trial, which is often a child’s best hope for a cure.

*$100 funds 4 hours of research to improve patient and survivor quality of life.

*$250 supports 5 hours of research in the lab leading to lifesaving discoveries.

*$500 funds 20 hours of research to improve patient and survivor quality of life.

*$1,000 helps support one child on a clinical trial, which is often their best hope for a cure.
