I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

My story is very different from that of the rest of the Mommas; but, it's what we want more kids, more families to hear and to have. Not the diagnosis, but instead the outcome!! I was diagnosed on January 22 1968 with Stage IV High Risk Neuroblastoma at just 8 1/2 Months of Age. I had surgery to remove my Right Kidney and a 2 1/2 pound tumor the size of a big man's fist; followed by chemo (which consisted of 250 INDIVIDUAL Shots given directly into the backs of both my hands) to dissolve what remained of the cancer on my Left Kidney and the outer lining of my Stomach. January 22 2015 marks 47 YEARS post diagnosis of Stage IV High Risk Neuroblastoma for me; yet I remain in the fight because I am forever one of the kids! I'm not Timmy's Momma and unfortunately, I never got the opportunity to meet him in person; but I had the pleasure of FINALLY meeting Timmy's family (Momma Wendy, Little Bro Tyler, Aunt Wanda, StepDad Luke) in early September 2014 and they will always be a part of my family!! I look at photos of Timmy, I hear stories about him from his Momma Wendy and I want you to know that he INSPIRES me. His smile inspires me!! He pushes me to keep fighting in his stead; because, like all the kids, he deserved so much more and so much better. His family deserved so much more and so much better! They all deserved more time, with Timmy here and all of them TOGETHER!! Being able to shave for you is a true honor to me, Timmy; and I am so very thankful to know you in the ways that I do.

With your help, getting my head shaved can mean the difference between kids fighting just to survive OR surviving to be able to fight on for others!

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
