I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Baldness

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Kids' cancers are different from adult cancers, and childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. My brother in law started being a shavee six years ago and I went to an event with him last year in Cary, NC. I had always donated and thought it was awesome that he was raising awareness. During the last event, one scene especially touched me. A girl around 10 years old had signed up and went up to get her head shaved. She had raised only 20 dollars and within minutes the crowd donated another 80 dollars to her cause. She was willing to shave her long beautiful hair for this. I couldn't help but stand there in awe. I had always donated, but seeing my brother in law and so many others give so much was inspirational. I decided right then that I would participate to raise money and stand in solidarity. I lost my father, Dominic Moebes, at age 54 to cancer.  Coping with his passing is one of the hardest things I have ever gone through.  I think this is why this is so important to me. I want to support all forms of cancer research and treatment. This is just one of the ways I hope to give back. I deeply appreciate your help! Every dollar makes a difference! Thank you so much, Thorsen
