I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Aunt Sarah here. In October of 2017 my neighbor took her two month old son to his wellness checkup, excited to hear how many pounds he had gained and how many inches he had grown. Unfortunately, the doctor sent them immediately to Lurie Children's hospital and there they were given the terrifying diagnosis of Neuroblastoma. Over the next few months he underwent surgeries and tests and I witnessed first hand the struggle his family went through to care for him and his two year old brother at home. Luckily, he has a best case scenario and there is currently no trace of cancer in his body. He is a lucky one, but I cannot imagine how it felt as a parent going through that situation.

I volunteered this year to spearhead the effort for my three Chicago nephews (yes, all three of them!) and brother in law's head shaving on March 17th to support all children and families who deal with such a horrible disease.   I am so proud of the boys for continuing this for the 5th year in a row!  Please consider donating to St Baldrick's to support children and families such as my neighbor's, and those who have an even longer road to health.  Let's help find a cure for cancer so all kids can lead their best and normal lives!
