It was at my son, David’s, 4 year well-check where his pediatrician felt a mass in his abdomen. We were sent for an ultrasound the next morning where he was diagnosed with bilateral Wilm’s Tumor. Instead of celebrating 4 years, he was admitted to the hospital to have a port placed and begin 6 months of chemo, radiation and a surgery that left him with only a half kidney.
Even though it has been almost 5 years since David’s diagnosis, the lack of childhood cancer funding has not changed. St. Baldrick’s is one of the only organizations that dedicates 100% of its fundraising to childhood cancer research. Please help me raise money for this organization and the kiddos! My hair will grow back but these kids won’t get their childhood back.
