I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team CKCKC

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team CKCKC

My name is Sophia and I was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor on January 20, 2015. I have undergone 3 chemo regimens, 3 brain surgeries, precocious puberty and have low vision. And I am here!

Last year, I was very scared to cut my hair. You see, I was just two and a half when my tumor was discovered so I had yet to have a haircut. My parents decided not to push it, as the idea struck terror in me. The doctors said my hair would fall out but, for some odd reason, it never did.

But I was BRAVE and I DID IT! I cut off over a foot of my hair and You donated nearly $9,000, helping our Team raise nearly $75,000 - WOW! Since then, I have done all kinds of new things, including riding a two wheeler and taking first grade by storm.

This year, I need to let my hair grow out a bit but I am once again honored to be Team CKCKC's Flair Coordinator. I have designed a special 2020 CKCKC bracelet that you can purchase at our January 26th event.

I have so many friends at the hospital and we all deserve better. Fifty percent of children with brain and spinal cord tumors do not get the chance I have been given. I don't want to say goodbye to any more of my dear friends. Research is the only thing that can help us!

We need your help! Will you make a donation? It will help me be brave and help all my friends!
