I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
As most of you already know, I was diagnosed with a rare form of Hodgkin's Lymphoma (HL) in February 2016. Currently, there is no evidence of disease in me after surgery last year, for which I am very thankful. I did not require radiation or chemotherapy, a luxury not afforded by many with this terrible disease. Going through this as an adult made me re-evaluate my life and appreciate each moment with my family. I could not even begin to think of how it would be if one of my kids were the ones diagnosed. I bet I would feel helpless, along with a range of other emotions. The type of HL I have, nodular lymphocyte predominant, is an interesting one. It mostly affects kids and adults in their 30's. This means that by your donation today, you could help a child and family help beat the same cancer that I am fighting!
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page!
IF I REACH MY FUNDRAISING GOAL, I WILL DYE MY HAIR BLONDE FOR ONE WEEK BEFORE I SHAVE MY HEAD AND POST THE PICTURE!
