My Story

Welcome! Lilianna Pena was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Before this diagnosis, she was a bubbly loving little girl who loves to play with bubbles and outside on the swings. We started to noticed her energy start to decrease and not acting like herself. We decided to take her to the hospital where her hemoglobins levels were extremely low and she needed multiple blood transfusions to get her levels back up. She was then transferred to El Paso Children’s Hospital due to where we live there is no treatment options. The following day on March 10, 2024, the doctors came in and told us the news. Our little girl has cancer. We were devastated and unsure what to do but cry. Luckily the doctors and nurses were amazing with us and gave us the time to grieve and process everything they told us. Currently our little girl is 100% cancer free and will be in treatment for the next couple years to make sure it doesn’t come back. Thank you for supporting me and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year. By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
