I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. I am blessed and truly thankful that all of my children are healthy and free of illness. Unfortunately, not all parents share that reality. There are approximately 175,000 children diagnosed with some form of cancer each year. Through research and information sharing the cure rate for some forms of cancer has gone from a 25% surviveability rate just a few short years ago to above 80% surviveablity rate now. That means 2 out of every 10 children are STILL losing their battle to cancer. Can you imagine if one of those 2 were your child? I can. In addition to that ,there are other forms of cancer that have not seen this same success rate. I want to do what I can to help fund childhood cancer research and am asking you to help. Please join with me by making a donation so that hopefully one day we can cure childhood cancer completely. Before you click away I would ask you to do this brief mental exercise: Imagine sitting in a doctor's office with your child. You are there because your child has a bruise on their leg that will not go away. The doctor has done some test's, blood work, labs, etc. Now imagine the door opens, the doctor walks in and closes the door behind them. The doctor sits down on the stool across from you and your child and tells you your child has cancer. Can you now imagine what happens next? Your mind starts spinning, all the wind is knocked out of you and you feel as though you have been punched in the stomach. I would assume feelings of nausea and confusion accompany this moment. I imagine you think to yourself "But kid's are not supposed to deal with CANCER. Cancer is a grown up's disease. This is my baby, this is my little girl or my little boy. Why is this happening" and I can think of another 100 questions. By God's grace I have not had the experience you just imagined, but there are countless other parent's, probably within your social circles, who have. Won't you please make a donation of any amount so we can reduce the number of times that nightmare gets played out in real life. I have set a personal goal to raise $1000.00 by March 13th, 2015 but cannot do it without your help. Please consider donating today.
