I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Bald Rocks

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Bald Rocks

The reason I am shaving my head this year is because kids don't deserve to go through this kind of pain. I am shaving in Honor and Memory of Cole, Mathias, Avery, Sara, Sydney, and Isla.

Cole's cancer, DSRCT, is a very rare cancer. He fought for so long and his body was ravaged just as much by the treatments as it was by the cancer. It's treatment protocol hasn't changed in over 30 years! Why? Research...or lack thereof. That is not ok.

As I've gotten to know these kids, through Facebook and in person, I have watched them get sick, get better, get sick again, go through things I wouldn't wish on anyone...and I've watched a lot of them die. For me going to a kids funeral is really scary because I don't know how to change it and I know we need more awareness.

They deserve to grow up and follow their dreams. We've lost some really amazing kids and it makes me sad. I may not be able to do much, but I can shave my head and use my voice to raise awareness for my friends.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
