I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Lauren

Hello, I am Michelle O'Connor!! This will be my third year helping with this event!! I have never been more passionate about an event and cause then this one!! My first year I was a shavee and that experience was the most amazing experience ever!! My husband, who was just my boyfriend at the time, also shaved his head that year!! Then last year I was a volunteer and again had an amazing experience!! Now this year I am a shavee again and can not wait!! I feel like when you walk around with a shaved head you get more opportunities to raise awareness to people about childhood cancer research!!

This year, along with our usual amazing team, my amazing Mother, Barb Kimberlin, has joined our team as a shavee!! I can't wait to sit next to her while she exeriences the uplifting, emotional, amazing, courageous feeling while getting your head shaved and having everyone who supports you up and around you watching and cheering!! And having the honorary children there makes it even more uplifting and makes it even more worth shaving all that hair away!!

We get to choose to shave our heads and to me its just hair, it grows back!! But for all those children diagnosed with cancer and they don't get to choose whether they lose their hair or not, they shouldn't have to deal with the daily struggles of cancer!! They are suppose to be enjoying life with mo worries in the world, pretending to be a princess or batman!! That is the reason I shave my head!! We need to bring awareness to childhood cancer and help fund this research!!

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
