I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with:

There are so many reasons not to make a big bald (pun intended) move to shave my head. A conference I have the week after this event where I will be on stage and seeing people I have not seen in years. My appearance.
But you know what- kids do not have a choice to be diagnosed with cancer. Their lives change instantly from one day to the next. I see these kids every day in my work. I know their fight. I know their family’s fight.
I also know that St. Baldrick’s does fantastic work. Their programs directly benefit researchers at my workplace- Nationwide Children’s. St. Baldrick’s is the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants, and the pandemic has slashed donations; they need our help now.
