I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

About a week prior to his diagnosis, Liam’s stomach was very distended and for about a month and was continually wetting the bed. His pediatrician felt a mass that he was concerned about. He immediately sent us to get an x-ray and CT scan. His pediatrician called me on his day off to let me know he saw the CT results and Liam was being admitted that night. The next morning on September 7th, 2017, Liam was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia T-Cell (Intermediate Risk). It turned out that the mass his pediatrician had felt a few days earlier, was actually his kidney. The leukemia cells had infiltrated his kidneys making them 3 times their normal size! At the beginning of treatment, he was receiving chemotherapy up to 3-4 times a week and was unable to attend school. He was homeschooled by his teachers for first grade, and most of second grade. Liam is currently receiving treatments once a month from now until December 2020 – when he is in 4th grader. Now, he considered in remission, attends school full-time and is even playing sports again!

Liam is shaving his head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive. He refuses to accept this reality, so he's decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids like me!

Now he needs your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join Liam today and let’s #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
