I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research
How much would you donate for childhood cancer research to see me shave my head in solidarity with kids fighting cancer?
One of every five children diagnosed with cancer will not survive. Thousands of children are diagnosed with cancer each year, and though the number of children who are cured is greater than it was 20 years ago, the loss of one child is one too many.
Please read little Jillian Z's story on my page. All donations I receive will be in her honor. Jillian was diagnosed with cancer when she was 1 year old. Jillian is one of the kids who sadly didn't make it.
Like Jillian Z., I have a wonderful sister named Jami. She's getting married on May 15 (yay!). When I first indicated my interest in being a shavee for the St. Baldrick's event in March, family and friends balked at the idea of me being in her wedding pictures with a bald noggin. They said they would donate, but only IF I waited until AFTER Jami's wedding. Which I am doing. There will be some sort of a mini-event after Jami's wedding where my head will be shaved as a bold and powerful symbol of support for kids who lose their hair during cancer treatment.
Please give.
