I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research
Over the last 6 1/2 years I have had the privilege of working with some of the worlds best childhood cancer doctors. I get to witness every day how their efforts in research and clinical care make the lives of children with cancer better and more hopeful. The St. Baldrick's Foundation has been a generous and consistent supporter of these efforts at UCSF .
St. Baldrick's raises funds through events where people offer to have their heads shaved as a visible show of support to the many who involuntarily lose their hair during treatment for cancer. While genetics and an elevated level of testosterone have rendered my head short on coverage these days, what little coverage I do have left I'm offering up as a fundraising tool for St. Baldricks.
The real hero's in the story of childhood cancer are the kids and families that so bravely and heroically demonstrate the power of love and the beauty of life in the most unimaginably difficult world where a child has cancer. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids.
Please go the website and make a donation - everything makes a difference..

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.
