I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

My name is Lea Harris, I am a senior in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Colorado and I have chosen to shave my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! I have had family members both alive today who have survived cancer and family members who have died due to cancer, this is something I know many people are affected by which is why I have also done dance-marathon fundraisers to send kids to a cancer support camp and donated my hair for wigs. I have finally made the choice to take this larger step in fundraising and solidarity to shave my head. As of February 17th, my hair measured out to 29.5 inches long and is still growing. I plan on donating the entirety of my braid to a non-profit organization for wigs and then shaving the rest off in solidarity for St. Baldrick's Day to raise money and help find a cure one small step at a time. Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
