Every day, we are faced with choices. You choose what to have for breakfast. You choose where you work. You choose your friends. Choices define us; they make us what we are. A few months ago, I made a choice of stopping to cut my hair. I wanted to try something new, and it worked. The wild, unkempt look sparkled conversations and comparisons. I enjoyed it.
Today, I am making another choice. Many of my friends have told me it’s time to get my hair under control. I decided to make it meaningful. Instead of just making a trip to the barber shop, I will collect money for a good cause. A great cause – Childhood Cancer Canada.
I am starting to collect now, and for you, my friends, I will make it fun! If I collect $200 in 30 days, I will get a simple haircut. If, however, I collect $500, I will dye my hair to a color of your choice! If I collect $1000 then I will shave my head entirely. And finally, if I end up collecting $1000 prior to June first I will make a trip to Toronto to the The Great, Big Head-Shave event held by St Baldricks’ foundation!
In the end, however, it does not matter what I end up doing with my hair. What matters is whom it benefits – so donate generously and help a sick child’s life get a little bit better.
Update
You have been very generous and I have reached and surpassed my goals. Thank you so much! I have colored my hair and will be shaving it off on June 4th in Toronto. Even though the goal has been met, you can still donate!
