I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Sophomores

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Sophomores

Last year, I shaved my head in support of children diagnosed with pediatric cancer.

This year, I plan on shaving my head. My fraternity, Sigma Phi Epsilon, will be hosting another carnival themed head-shaving event at Drexel University to raise money for The St. Baldricks Foundation, a pediatric cancer research foundation. Our event will be on May 4th.

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation grants funds to researchers around the country because, on a national level, only 4% of federal cancer research funding goes towards pediatric cancers.

This year, I was lucky enough to learn about some of the research that St. Baldrick’s has funded at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. If you would like to learn about what some of St. Baldrick’s grants have gone toward: https://www.chop.edu/cccr/labs/david-barrett-laboratory

After learning about what the link above discusses and seeing where exactly the money we raise can go, it is easy to see how important this is. Please help make a difference in the lives of these children and feel free to join us for the event as well! Anything helps!
