I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hello everyone! As a mom of 2 young kids and a preschool teacher, I have always wanted to participate in St. Baldrick's. I had seen the faces of the brave kids fighting for their lives against cancer and wanted to be a part of the cure. A few months ago, I decided this was the year to do it. But it wasn't until I made that decision and started doing research through St. Baldrick's on children's cancer that I learned that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers. It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. All types of childhood cancers combined receive only 4% of the U.S. federal funding for cancer research. Looking at the faces of the 2015 St. Baldrick's Ambassadors and reading their stories has created a dramatic shift in my motivation. It went from "wouldn't it be an amazing experience to shave my head for children's cancer research" to being "I HAVE to do this for THEM." The ones who are fighting so hard deserve a cure! The ones who tragically didn't make it should still be here; their smiles lighting up the world. Now I need your help! Will you please make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Thank you for your generosity and joining in this great cause! Sincerely, Christine
