I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team OdysseyRe

I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. I'm also honoring the life of Kelsey Dickson who was a 10 year old daughter of my colleague Andy Dickson. In January 2014, Kelsey was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called Merkel Cell Carcinoma. As a newer type of cancer it was known to inflict only adults typically in their late 70’s or 80’s. Cancer does not discriminate as Kelsey became the first child in the U.S. to be affected with Merkel Cell which shocked the medical community. Even with her being given a 20% survival rate, she fought hard and valiantly for 9 months through multiple chemo sessions, drugs, and a clinical trial. Unfortunately, the disease was too devastating to overcome with today’s medicines and treatments and she went to be with our Lord on Sept 17th. Sadly, we have since heard of another child who has been affected. To continue her legacy, the Dickson family’s wish is that someday a cure will be found for this destructive disease and the lives of our precious children will be saved.
