New Note: Highest donor gets to decide my facial hair pattern, which will last a whole week after the date
There is nothing I like less than people bugging people to raise money for something, anything--whether it was for the scholarship organization in high school or trying to rent a hotel room for 50 in Savannah, GA after getting evicted during an Ultimate Frisbee Tournament.
However, three things have fallen into place here -- a soft spot for kids, an incredible charity for local children with cancer, and an ungainly ability to grow hair. My hair is about 5 inches long and my full man-beard is about an inch in length [For the moment]. I will continue to grow my hair until the end of February on the condition that I maintain a pace to meet my fundraising goal of $1,006. But Andrew, why don't we just donate slowly so you don't get a haircut?" Because, I'm raising money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation and on the last day I will shave my beard and my head--COMPLETELY. My awkward, lumpy, lightbulb head will be there for you all to see and gawk at. I'll post pictures on telephone poles and at the dog park. Consider this an opportunity to publicly humiliate a pompous medical student with the awesome benefit of helping kids with cancer.
I'll end this here as I get set up my profile, but I"ll be sure to keep you updated!
-Andrew
