I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Bocce Balds (and Friends)

Dear Family and Friends,

I am writing to you later in the year as I had been trying to wait for some updated information from Kitty Hoynes and this year’s 2021 St. Baldrick’s event. As COVID affected last year’s event and only allowed for virtual shave events, this year also looks as though it will be modified to say the least. There had been a tentative date for March 21st but it has been confirmed that this will not be the case. Kitty Hoynes is hopeful that there may be some type of modified options inclusive of possibly coordinating in person shaves at some salons & shops, a virtual shave option & possibly an outdoor shave this summer.

All of this being said, for the 4th straight year I will be again joining our team captain, Matt Wieczorek (shaving for his 15th year!) and the rest of our team, The Bocce Balds & Friends. Last year, with your overwhelming support and generosity, I was able to surpass my very lofty goal of $5,000 to the tune of $5,133.00, the 8th overall participant in the Syracuse Kitty Hoynes event, and assisting our team to be the 6th overall team out of 67 participating teams. The best part is all this friendly competition is used to help St. Baldrick’s to work towards finding better treatments and cures for childhood cancers. You can find my fundraising page at:

I have once again set my goal at the $5,000 and I know this is a lofty amount, especially starting my fundraising later in the year. I know I say it often but again, it is all of you that are the true heroes that give so selflessly year in and year out. I know as a whole, we have all been challenged in so many ways over the past year, but this has not stopped the unfortunate truth that there is still a need for support of St. Baldrick’s and their mission to keep fighting against childhood cancers.

I will be sure to keep you all updated as to information I am provided from Kitty Hoynes about the possible shave options as we are made aware. Thank you in advance for any and all support you are able to provide. Every little bit matters!

With my sincere thanks and gratitude,

Angelo Isgro
