My Story

Miller was a  healthy, active, 11 year old boy.  Until he wasn't.  In an instant, our lives were turned completely upside down. Things that I had stressed over and worried about, just the day before, were suddenly completely insignificant. There's no way I can possibly convey to you the feeling of finding out that your child, your baby, your whole word, has a brain tumor. But what is more important to convey, is how at the darkest moment in our lives, we were given hope.  Dr. Schneider told us he would go in there and take it out. He told us Miller would be okay; that he would be back playing sports in no time.  Indeed he was.  If you met Miller today, you would have no idea that he had brain surgery a year ago, or that he continues to go for MRIs every three months to  make sure that the residual tumor remains stable, or that he takes medication twice a day to prevent seizures. He has never let his diagnosis define him. Miller inspires us every day to be happy and strong, and to enjoy every moment. We thank you for supporting Miller and the more than 300,000 kids worldwide who will be diagnosed with cancer this year.By sharing the gifts of your time, talent and money with the St. Baldrick's Foundation, you're supporting research to give all kids with cancer a better chance for a cure.
