I was 21 when I was diagnosed with CML, though I had been suffering for several years without any answers. CML is actually considered a geriatric cancer, so no one predicted that to be my diagnosis. Less than 2% of patients diagnosed with CML are under 20 years of age. The maintenance treatment I am currently on was not even on the market yet when I was first diagnosed. I feel optimistic about the advancements happening in the field today.
