My Story

Kane was diagnosed in August of 2003 with juvinile diabetes at the age of 9 then on April 1, 2008 (April Fool's Day) at the age of 14 he was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma (bone cancer). He had 8 rounds of chemo, surgery to remove 4 inches of bone in his leg, and 5 more rounds of chemo. His doctor let him skip his last round of chemo. He missed the last 2 months of his 8th grade year & the experience of his Freshman year of high school but he is alive and well today. He is so smart that he stayed caught up on his school work and did not fall behind. He currently is a junior at WKU.  There is no sign of cancer...the diabetes he can live with. I thank God everyday that he is here with us.

The Childhood Cancer Ripple Effect
