Carrick was diagnosed with stage 3 Burkitt’s Lymphoma in May of 2024. When he should have been wrapping up 1st grade and starting his summer, he instead was beginning inpatient chemotherapy for one of the most aggressive cancers there is. After almost 60 nights in the hospital, multiple surgeries, procedures and transfusions, Carrick’s scans showed he was cancer free. He is now 5 months in remission. The support from the pediatric cancer charities, medical providers and community members is what kept Carrick and his family strong through all of it.
