Did you know that a backpack can be a lifesaving device?
My daughter Ava is 11 years old. She was diagnosed with High Risk B Cell ALL on March 14th 2025. This has been the toughest time for her and our family. In August she completed her first cycle of Blina , she wore a backpack with the medication inside of it running 24/7 for 28 days. At first we were nervous about this, but held out hope, and I’m happy to report those 28 days were the best since starting her treatment, she felt good! Her stomach stopped hurting, she was actually sad it had came to an end, and traditional chemotherapy restarted. . On October 24th Ava will start her second cycle of Blina and this time I’m going to wear the St Baldrick’s book bag in solidarity with Ava, and all the other children battling Leukemia. Please help me raise funds for research that helps kids like Ava go on to live a long life without cancer!
Thanks to a recent research breakthrough, kids with B-cell ALL are receiving a new lifesaving treatment through a backpack. It has increased their survival rate to 96% and has allowed them to be home, attend school, play with friends, and get back to doing the things they love.
I am taking on the backpack challenge to stand in solidarity with my daughter Ava during her treatment and raise funds to Send Kids Cancer Packing! I'm committed to raising $2,500 to represent the 2,500 kids that will be diagnosed with b-cell ALL this year and to fund research to help all kids with cancer. Please consider donating – YOU pack the power to take childhood back from cancer!
