There are certain people you encounter who leave an everlasting impression on your life. Sam was one of those people. A scholar, athlete, Eagle
Scout, and talented musician, he made the most of everything, and spread his love both broadly and deeply. His courage, strength, and love were only magnified when he was diagnosed with a rare cancer (desmoplastic small round cell tumors) at the age of 18.
His rare disease required experimental treatments, some of which benefited through funding from the St. Baldrick's foundation. He supported St.
Baldrick's events in the Portland area during his treatments, and would be attending this year as well if he was still with us.
Besides raising money to support cancer research, St.Baldrick's is an event that brings people together for hope and support during difficult times. Thank you for your interest and involvement, it means so much.
With infinite love and memories, we celebrate the life of Sam Marx.
We are shaving our heads to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So we decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
Now we need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
