Event Details

Join Omega Phi Alpha and WKU Baseball as members of the WKU and Bowling Green Community join together and shave the way to conquer kids cancer! If you have been touched by a child with cancer, then you know they lose not only their hair but precious years from their childhood, and sometimes their lives. Together we can support this vital research and give our children back their dreams. Worldwide, 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year and despite tremendous progress, cancer remains the #1 disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. The St. Baldrick's Foundation raises funds for childhood cancer research by hosting worldwide head-shaving events, where volunteers shave their heads in public to show solidarity with the children who typically lose their hair during treatments. These “shavees” receive pledges of financial support from their friends and family. In turn their generous donations help fund life-saving childhood cancer research. St. Baldrick’s events have raised more than $69 million, providing research grants to enable doctors and scientists at over 200 institutions to pursue the most promising new cures for childhood cancer and to help make clinical trials available to more children than ever. Since 2000, St. Baldrick’s has hosted more than 2,400 head-shaving events, shaving more than 107,000 heads in 24 countries and 50 U.S. states. Please support us by registering as a shavee or a volunteer

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
