The Student Athletic Advisory Committee, students, faculty and administration are participating in The Big Shave in memory of David Heard (son of Tom Heard '91) who died from cancer on February 10, 2010. David was best known on campus after seeing a play staged by Lafayette students about Sadako. From that play grew "The National Crane Project." Students from almost every athletic team, clubs and community members came together to fold and string crane mobiles for David to give to hospitals as a sign of hope. He always had hope and believed cures can be found if the money can be raised to fund research. Get in on the action and be a hero for kids with cancer! Join this St. Baldrick's event, and whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you'll be a part of the excitement. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
