Tonight is going to be FUN! The mission of the St. Baldrick's Foundation is to raise awareness and funds to cure childhood cancer. Participants shave their heads in exchange for donations towards research. It is a simple concept, a fun time and a very effective fundraiser - In 2005, we created TeamBrent to honor our son by fighting alongside him. Over the past three years TeamBrent has shaved over 500 heads and raised $767 thousand for childhood cancers through St Baldrick's. Let's continue to make a difference and have some fun while we do it. Join us Thursday March 13th at the Bear & Grill in Fairfield. pleanty of easy parking! 5-7: Family Friendly 4:30-6:30 Radio station 95.9 the Fox will do a live remote 5pm Registration opens (everyone must register) 5-7: Westport's Children of the Sound dunk booth 5:30-7pm The Total Look Salons & Academy will shave heads (no reserved times, by queue) 5:30-7pm CTFaceArt.com painting heads 7:30: emcee Deb Kaufman, Speakers Dr. MJ Hogan, 4th year shavee Tom Conigliaro, Team Brent cofounder Mike McCreesh. Shaving will be done via a queue, first come, first serve. The Total Look will have 18 stylists working hard, so expect some wait, but to have fun in the process. Local business owners of Children of the Sound, Keough's Hardware, the Nauti Dolphin, the Little Gym of Fairfield, along with the Sound Tigers and Sacred Heart University Hockey teams; the Fairfield Firefighters Local 1426; and many more area residents have already signed up to shave their heads for the cause. Further thanks go to Infinite Web Designs, FactSet, A&S Wood Floors, Suzysaid.com and High Ridge Printing. Visit Blue Tulip in Fairfield on March 13th and mention TeamBrent/St Baldrick's, Blue Tulip will donate 15% of all purchases to the cause. Team Brent's events in Boston (The Greatest Bar) and Meriden (Quality Time) were amazing!!!! Join us in London (March 18, "The Last"). We also have closed events at Swift Middle School (Oakville) & Elizabeth Shelton School. TeamBrent was formed in honor of Brent McCreesh who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in September of 2004. For more information on why we shave, go to www.TeamBrent.com or Click here to visit the St. Baldrick's Team Brent Events page Bald for a cause - from the Boston event: Celtic's Brian Scalabrine shaved his head to help raise awareness for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, which has raised more than $34 million for child cancer research with head shavings in 18 countries. Scalabrine was shaved Thursday and also shaved heads as part of a TeamBrent event. "My wife is all good with it," he said. "She knows it's for a good cause. But my daughter was a little scared. She'll be turning 1 in a few weeks. "She crawled right away from me, looking back scared. But by the time I came back from shootaround [yesterday], she was all good with it."

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
