WOW - what an amazing event this year!   Although we fell short of our goal, our vision and dream was to be BIG.  And aim high!   Our final numbers take a about a week or so to come in but the final total looks to be around $55,000!   Putting our St. Clair Shores events over the past two years at over $120,000!  incredible!!!

Thank you again to all the volunteers that worked countless hours, the brave souls that shaved their heads (over 80 in all), to all the barbers/stylist that stood on their feet for hours shaving heads, and also all the folks that came out to be a part of the event.

The raffle prizes were simply mind-blowing!  In all there were over 70 raffle prizes!
The kids Zone was unbelievable, lots of fun things to do and awesome free prizes for all.

Detroit Tiger legends Jim Price and Dave Rozema were a gigantic hit (no pun intended).   They were busy sharing stories, laughs, tons of pictures and autographs (including one SCS Fireman had both of them autograph his fresh shaven head with a sharpie).

And finally the highlight of the day came during opening announcements whereas 3 beautiful parents shared their emotional stories and battles they have endured with childhood cancer.  There wasn't a dry eye in the house.  Anne, Debbie and Stanley you touched the lives of many on Saturday and our prayers will be with you and all the families that fight those dreaded four words... "your child has cancer" .

The stories were followed by an inspirational prayer, a moment of silence and a stunning performance of Amazing Grace done with a solo bagpiper.

Brother Crowe played live music earlier in the day and they rocked it!  You need to check these guys out!  brothercrowe.com

It was an absolutely  beautiful day filled with sunshine, laughter, tears and most importantly... Hope.  Hope that one day our efforts that fund childhood cancer research will eliminate ever hearing those four dreaded words.   I believe with all my heart that our efforts will!

And it's certainly not too late to donate, out page will remain open until the end of the year.  So click on the blue button above and throw another $5 on our event.  Imagine if everyone that reads this did that.

Peace and God Bless,
Kevin

BREAKING NEWS  - Detroit Tiger radio announcer and 1968 World Series Champion  Jim Price  and 1984 World Series Champion  Dave Rozema will be making an appearance at our event around 12:30 pm.  Come on out and meet two of Detroit's favorite sport celebrities.

MORE  EXCITING NEWS!  Our very own St. Clair Shores Fire Department will be shaving their heads again as a Team including Chief Piper!    How awesome! Make sure you thank them when you see them.

Other exciting news...Kip Walby, the Mayor of St. Clair Shores along with two council members, Peter Accica and Chris Vitale will be shaving their heads again in 2018!

The hit band Brother Crowe will be performing live music for our entertainment starting around noon and playing through-out the afternoon.    brothercrowe.com

So why all the bald heads?   We shave heads in solidarity with the kids battling cancer, in doing so, “Shavees" raise money by asking for donations.   The fact is the shavees are the heroes for the event, without them, there is no event.   SO PLEASE SIGN UP TO SHAVE!! Just click the "Join Us" blue button above.

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Get involved, and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers!  Let’s do this!!
