Event Details

We were looking to the Fifth Annual Broad Ripple Haverford Little League Shave or Braid event, which was to take place Saturday, May 30th. This year won't haev the event we had planned, but because childhood cancer isn’t taking a break, neither are we. We are inviting you to participate from home this year through a couple of different options. Please feel free to do one or both.

#CoronaCuts4KidsCancer
Have a streak of St. Baldrick’s Shave/Braid participation you don’t want to let COVID19 collapse?   Keep posting updates to social media along with your fundraising progress. Then, shave or braid on your own by Saturday, June 13th. Let your donors and the world see your new lewk - post pics and videos, tag #JacksPack and #CoronaCuts4KidsCancer on your social media.

Every Two Minutes Challenge

Looking for a fun and virtual way to help but don’t want to involve your hair? This year we will be sharing various virtual challengeson our social channels for you and they will each be up to two minutes long. Since a child is diagnosed with cancer every two minutes, these challenges are intended to highlight how little time two minutes actually is.

Post your attempts and fundraising requests to social media and tag #JacksPack and #DFYchildhoodCancers through Saturday, June 13th.

Broad Ripple Haverford Little League is proud to be participating in our fifth annual "Shave or Braid" event. We are out to exceed the $166,274 we raised together in 2019! A bit of background: We are doing this to honor one of our own, Jack Klein. Jack started playing baseball in our Rookies league and was with us every year until the spring of 2015 when he was diagnosed with Burkitt Lymphoma and began treatment. His siblings, Ali and Matthew have been part of BRHLL for years and he made many friends along the fences watching big sister and brother play ball. Jack passed away in February 2016 after a 10-month fight and our community is coming together to honor him and other casualties of childhood cancer. Unfortunately, Jack was the one in five children diagnosed with cancer that don't survive. St. Baldrick's is devoted to changing that statistic and to improving the quality of life of childhood cancer survivors and the often brutal toll the treatments can take in the long-term. All funds raised will go to St. Baldrick's in the everlasting hope that they can spur research to save children from this awful disease.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
