On June 4th, 2014, pediatric oncologists & health professionals from ALL pediatric oncology treatment centres from across Canada will be joining forces to shave their heads in solidarity with the brave kids they meet each day.
The first annual "Great, Big C17 Head-Shave" will take place at the brand new Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning.
Their goal is to raise $170,000 to fund the best Canadian, collaborative childhood cancer research.
Why are we shaving heads at this St. Baldrick's event? Because a group of people are willing to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, who typically lose their hair during treatment. More importantly, we're doing it to raise funds for childhood cancer research!Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. The St. Baldrick's Foundation partners with organizations around the world to fund childhood cancer research. We're proud to be doing our part to give kids with cancer a better chance for a cure. Please join us!Please choose a participant to support, or donate to our event as a whole by clicking “Make a Donation” above. You may also give by mail or phone. Thank you for your support!
