Be a hero for kids with cancer! The Charlotte Checkers community is teaming up to support the St. Baldrick's Foundation with a goal of raising $20,000 to help fund research and find cures for children with cancer. On March 15, live in game, Checkers in game host, Elle, will shave her head. Forward Matt Marquardt will also be shaving his head. The Checkers are offering fans free tickets to its game against the Lake Erie Monsters on March 15, if they are willing to raise money for childhood cancer research by having their locks shorn for St. Baldrick's prior to the game. The first 50 fans that shave their heads and raise a minimum of $100 will receive two tickets to that night's game. Beginning at 3:00 pm, a team of stylists from SportClips will be assisting in head shaving activities at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Join this St. Baldrick's event, and whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you'll be a part of the excitement. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
