How many heroes do you know? Cub Scout Pack 199 and the St. Baldrick's Foundation invite you to become a hero for children with cancer. Shaving your hair, a donation of your time, or a monetary contribution allows you to help the 160,000 children that are diagnosed with cancer each year (that's one child every 3 ½ minutes).
The St. Baldrick's Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. They donated more than $16 million in 2009 and, with the work of donors at more than 2,400 events, more than $41 million since 2005. They can continue this great endeavor in 2010 with your help.
This year we're raising funds as "Team Teddy", named after Osborn Hill 3rd grader Teddy Gerber who was diagnosed with Undifferentiated Sarcoma in November. With this fundraising effort, we are honoring his courageous battle against this disease.
Please join us for a "fun"tastic evening at our 2010 fundraising event. This is a child-friendly event sponsored by Pack 199 of Osborn Hill School that is scheduled to take place from 5:30 to 9:00 pm. Please note, though, that shavee sheck-in/registration ends at 7:30pm. In addition to the "mane" head shaving event, this year's fundraiser will feature a raffle with lots of great prizes, a bake sale sponsored by the girl scouts, a silent auction with more great items, a magician, and more!
Register now as a shavee or sponsor a registrant with your on-line donation today. Or just show-up at the event to show your support. Then everyone you know can say they know a hero!
