It’s that time of year again!
Did you ever think a haircut could save someone’s life? As we continue the battle against childhood cancer, we would invite you to experience first-hand how the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is making a difference.
We’re shaving our heads in solidarity with children who typically lose their hair during treatment, and invite YOU to join us in making a “bald” statement at Ballydoyles on March 8th, 2016.
While not an easy thing to do, it’s important that these children understand they’re not alone in their efforts. Together, our message will be more profound and the task before us easier to accomplish.
Worldwide, 175,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year and despite tremendous progress, cancer remains the number one disease killer of children in the U.S. and Canada. One of the ways St. Baldrick's raises funds for childhood cancer research is through head-shaving events worldwide.
Volunteers shave their heads and receive pledges of financial support from their friends and family. Only 4% of federal cancer research funds are granted to the study of childhood cancers and these generous donations help fill the gap.
Registration is simple. Click the "Join Us" link above, pick your team (or make your own) and start spreading the word and fundraising the best you can!
Last year we raised $78,049! This year we have set our goal at $85,000 and we need your help!
