Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

University of Rhode Island

Greetings! My name is Ian Kanterman, I am a currently a student enrolled at the University of Rhode Island. I study Biomedical Engineering and French! For the last few years at URI, I have become an avid supporter of involvement, service and meaningful opportunities. I participated in my first ever St. Baldrick's last year after seeing my cousin shave for this grand cause. I was amazed by the simple message that comes from shaving the hairs off of someone's head. I wanted to bring that message, that inspiration and hope that accompanies it, to my university and spark a campus-wide event that supports the St. Baldrick's Foundation. I am currently a survivor of non-Hodgkin lymphoma of over 10 years now. I know what it's like to go bald as child. I know the struggles of being a patient, day in and day out. I want to take my survivorship and make something out of it, and if it means giving back to organizations like St. Baldrick's, then that is exactly what I aim to do.  I hope that you can be a hero for kids with cancer and be apart of this grand event.   Join this St. Baldrick's event, and whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you'll be a part of the excitement! The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers!

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
