** UPDATE TO EVENT**
Out of an abundance of caution, the companies participating in March 11, 2020 St. Baldrick’s event have mutually agreed that it is everyone’s best interest to postpone. We will look to reschedule during warm weather.
Thank you all for your support – especially our shavees and everyone who has made donations. We will revert back ASAP with a new date!
Stamford-based (re)insurers and brokers Berkley Re, Chubb, Gen Re, Liberty, The Hartford, Odyssey Group, PartnerRe, and Willis will be coming together to participate in this St. Baldrick's event!
While the St. Baldrick’s Foundation has become a globally recognized force in the effort to raise funds and awareness in support of juvenile cancer research, many may not be privy to its origin within the (re)insurance industry. The first head shaving and fundraising event took place in 2000 at a reinsurance industry St. Patrick’s Day party in NYC, and we are all very excited to be a part of this group of locally-based companies continuing the tradition!
We are proud to have David Martin, Mayor of Stamford, Connecticut, in attendance as well as Kathleen Ruddy, Chief Executive Officer of St. Baldrick's. Stamford’s own Salon Wayne has volunteered to provide the official barbers.
Be a hero for kids with cancer! Join us at this St. Baldrick's event and whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer or donate, we hope you'll be a part of the excitement. Help show these children that they are not forgotten in their struggle and, in turn, let them show you what true bravery is!
