We’re the St. Baldrick’s Foundation – yes that’s right, St. BALDrick’s – the leading private funder of childhood cancer research and home of the head-shaving event. We got our start on March 17, 2000, when three friends turned their annual reinsurance industry’s St. Patrick’s Day party into a fundraiser for kids with cancer, shaving 19 heads bald and raising $104,000 for the cause.
Today, people all over the world embrace this crazy idea of shaving heads to raise money for childhood cancer research, and they do it with flair.
